The roads are alive with the sound of vroooom. Yesterday it was the Balmoral Show springing back to normality, and the crowds are flocking to Ed Sheeran in Boucher Park, but this weekend it’s the turn of the North West 200 to roar back into action.
It never rains but it pours, and though there were a couple of showers on Thursday.
Saturday looks set fair which should mean even more head to the coast to take in the sights and sounds of one of the most spectacular and thrilling sporting occasions anywhere in the world.
And that’s why they come from all over the world to be there.
It’s been missed by the fans, but also by many of the businesses in the area.
Guesthouses have the no vacancy signs in the windows, pubs and restaurants are thriving and all the North West 200 needs now is a day of great racing in the sunshine with man and machine in perfect high speed harmony.
If there is a heaven for road racing, it’s on the north coast of Ireland.
