While culture may be a political hot-potato in Northern Ireland, in the world of television the province continues to cast a positive image.

Adrian Dunbar has been a long-running hit in Line Of Duty, James Nesbitt is starring in new drama Bloodlands, and Derry Girls took the comedy world by storm.

Now the man who could be said to be the biggest success story of the lot, Sir Kenneth Branagh, is to add further lustre to his glittering CV in the role of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Take a look at his chameleon-like transformation into the tousled-haired Tory in this newspaper today and wonder at his ability to capture the essence of the controversial premier.

Sir Kenneth will play Boris during the early months of the pandemic, including when he contracted the virus.

It is undoubtedly a challenging part. But for someone who has played some of the great Shakespearean roles from Henry V to Hamlet, Boris should be a lightweight relief.
