There’s a quare oul stretch in the evenings. There, we’ve said it. Summertime has arrived the days are getting longer and we’ve all been given an extra hour of daylight to enjoy, well, the daylight.
And there’s been plenty of it about this weekend with sunshine, clear blue skies and temperatures reaching a peak of 18.3 degrees (in Castlederg) and families enjoying their sunshine packed Mothering Sunday out and about. It’s been a glorious few days weather-wise and there’s no Covid lockdown to ruin our plans.
But it’s not quite the death of winter yet. We’ve been spoiled by the recent warm weather, but by midweek we’ll be back shivering as temperatures are about to plummet.
We might miss the snow and sleet forecast for the rest of the UK, but chillier days are on their way.
Well, it wouldn’t be the good old Northern Irish weather is there wasn’t a bit of everything thrown in there, would it?
Keep the warm duvet on the bed and don’t put the big coat away... winter isn’t quite finished with us yet.
