It looked like a traditional wedding photograph. The bride dressed in a beautiful white dress, and her new husband posed on the rugged north coast with the ruins of Dunseverick Castle in the background.
But closer inspection revealed something more than a little odd — the bride was wearing a pair of chunky hiking boots, hardly traditional footwear for the big day.
However, that was not the only difference. The couple had no guests, they decided to hike to the remote location due to Covid restrictions and the legal niceties were performed in a field near Dunluce Castle.
By the time they trekked back to civilisation, the only place open for a meal was a McDonald’s drive-thru. Did that make their nuptials a McWedding?
It may have been out of the ordinary, but for new husband and wife Seamus and Chelsea Collins, it was an unforgettable occasion that will be a talking point for years to come.
Sadly, they didn’t have a reception, but if they had, their first song could have been Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.
