Belfast has received its fair share of bad headlines recently, but Belfast bar Babel being named as one of the top 50 rooftop bars in Europe shows we know how to do some things right.

Northern Ireland’s capital frequently punches above its weight when it comes to hospitality and nightlife, as accolades like this show.

Coming in at number 29 on the list, sandwiched between the renowned Level 27 club in Warsaw and Forza Wine in London, is a welcome tip of the hat.

Spots in Northern Ireland have previously made their way on to various ‘best of’ and ‘top ten’ lists, and every time one pops up it is a welcome reminder that there is a lot to shout about here.

Babel is currently closed due a fire that seriously damaged the building earlier this year, but is due to reopen in the Autumn. Owners say they hope to hit the ground running again with renewed energy, and with accolades like being named the among the cream of the crop when it comes to rooftop bars, there will certainly be a healthy customer base through the door.
