We all know that Northern Ireland’s north coast is a holidaymaker’s delight with some of the finest scenery anywhere in Ireland and plenty of entertainment for all ages to enjoy in normal times.
During most summers it is the destination of choice for thousands of local holidaymakers, but this year with staycations the only alternative to foreign breaks that could ultimately turn into quarantine nightmares, the north coast is determined to cash in on its good fortune.
And boy, are some property owners doing just that. One four-bedroom house in Coleraine is being offered for rental at more than £1,000 a night and hiring a static caravan in the town will set you back almost £2,500 for the week.
Some might regard the prices as exorbitant but it is a sellers’ market. If you want to holiday in the province this summer it is going to cost you big money. The alternative is to stay at home.
You pays your money and you takes your choice.
