Surgeon and mum have given Mark the gift of life
Mark Dobson described surgeon Tim Brown as a hero after he performed a life-changing kidney transplant operation on him.
It is a description that anyone who has undergone a major operation will readily confer on the surgeon involved.
It is only in such times of utmost need that we really appreciate the skill of the doctors - and all medical and nursing staff - in our hospitals.
Mark has another hero, or heroine, to thank - his mum, Jo-Anne Dobson. She donated the kidney which hopefully will give him a much enhanced life. Mums will do anything for their children but living organ donation takes real courage.
