Loyalist demonstrations against the Northern Ireland Protocol were suspended following the death of Prince Philip. It would have sat uneasily with the wider loyalist community for young protesters to be in nightly confrontation with the Crown forces at a time when the royal family was in mourning for the Duke of Edinburgh.
