Greggs celebrates Fairtrade Fortnight with Belfast Telegraph

Food-on-the-go retailer Greggs is supporting Fairtrade Fortnight (Monday 26 February - Sunday 11 March) which aims to raise awareness of providing farmers around the world with a fairer deal.

Through Fairtrade, millions of poor farmers and workers are already coming together to demand a change. They are working hard to close the door on exploitation and transform their communities.

Greggs’ partnership with Fairtrade, which is now in its eleventh year, has enabled farmers to invest over £1.7 million from Greggs’ Fairtrade sales in their farms and communities.

Greggs takes great pride in sourcing and making freshly ground coffee for its customers.  From the farmers who grow the finest Arabica and Robusta beans, to the buyers who only source 100% Fairtrade coffee. From roasters who create a unique, smooth blend that’s full of flavour, to shop teams who freshly grind the beans for every single customer.

Greggs’ Fairtrade hot drink range includes tea (including green and peppermint), espresso, black/white coffee, flat white, latte, cappuccino, mocha, hot chocolate and speciality lattes. In addition to its hot drinks Greggs’ bananas, sugar sachets and orange juice are also sourced via Fairtrade.
