1914-2014 First World War Centenary Commemoration

At 11pm on August, 4, 1914 Great Britain declared war on Germany.

On Wednesday, August 5 1914, in a world before broadcast radio and TV, the Belfast Telegraph reported on the outbreak of world war.

One hundred years later we commemorate The Great War with a series of three supplements Free with the Belfast Telegraph on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th June.

Supplements one and two each give 50 amazing facts about the First World War. The third supplement is a souvenir issue looking back at ‘the world to end all wars’ with pictures and stories of how it shaped the future of Northern Ireland.
