Wise head: Nonito Donaire is determined to prolong his boxing career by tasting victory in Belfast before going on to regain his place on the big stage

Carl Frampton will fight former four-weight world champion Nonito Donaire when he steps back into the ring this evening.

Frampton will take on the 35 year-old Filipino at Belfast's SSE Arena as he continues a journey that he hopes will lead to another World title.Donaire has won World titles at flyweight, bantamweight, super bantamweight, and featherweight.

Frampton knows victory will earn a WBO interim crown and tee up a World title bout, possibly against WBO holder Oscar Valdez.

After Frampton's November victory over Horacio Garcia, Warren said: "We said that we would give Carl the chance to win a world title in his home town and that's what we'll do. He can fight late March or April and then we go for the big one at Windsor Park as we have promised."
