Boxer Ohara Davies apologies to Paddy Barnes and wife following 'low blow' tweet
English boxer Ohara Davies has apologised to Paddy Barnes and his wife Mari following a tasteless tweet he has since deleted.
Barnes is currently with wife Mari on honeymoon in Dubai and the ever-humorous two-time Olympic bronze medallist took to Twitter to share an image from the top of Burj Khalifa hotel with the words "Think I got a little bit too excited today at the top of Burj Khalifa" (See picture to appreciate the humour!).
Think I got a little bit too excited today at the top of Burj Khalifa...... pic.twitter.com/LcJSqzlwRq— Paddy Barnes OLY (@paddyb_ireland) July 21, 2017
The picture was liked 3,500 times but Davies, who has been involved in twitter spats with Barnes and fellow Belfastman Carl Frampton before, descended to a new low when he shared Barnes' picture along with a comment about the happy couple regarding their looks.
Davies then issued the following apology.
"Apologies to Paddy Barnes' wife for the tweet sent yesterday. It was a low blow and came from a place of immaturity. She had nothing to do with mine and his beef over social media."
