Carl Frampton: Cyclone Promotions cancel Gutierrez fight after postponement
The fight between Carl Frampton and Andres Gutierrez has been officially cancelled.
Frampton was due to fight Gutierrez at the SSE Arena in Belfast last month, however the contest was cancelled after the Mexican suffered pre-fight injuries in a fall in his hotel room.
That happened the same day Frampton weighed in a pound overweight for the bout, which would have cost him a chance at a World title shot had he gone on to win.
Cyclone Promotions say the SSE Arena and boxing authorities "have been working to get a new date for the fight".
"Unfortunately a proposed date in November was unsuitable to all parties. It is therefore with regret that we are announcing the cancellation of this event.
"We are all profoundly disappointed for the fans, the boxers, and those who have worked with and supported us on this event."
The cancellation comes amid reports that Frampton is set to end his eight-year partnership with manager Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions.
The relationship between the former two-weight world champion and his promoter is believed to have broken down in recent months.

Fans who purchased tickets online or over the phone with Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded within 3 – 7 working days.
Customers who purchased tickets via a Ticketmaster outlet, the SSE Arena Box Office in person or any other private outlet will need to return to the point of purchase.
“We appreciate the ongoing patience of all ticket holders in this matter,” the statement added.
The promoters said they are “currently working to arrange a date for a new fight”.
“We are confident that Carl Frampton will become world champion again,” Cyclone Promotions added.
