Carl Frampton delighted to return to ITV for title defence

Carl Frampton's IBF World super-bantamweight title defence against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr on Saturday, July 18 will be shown live on ITV.

The bout itself, at the Don Haskins Centre in El Paso, Texas, will be screened on ITV1 from 9.45pm BST, with the pre-fight build-up to start at 9pm on ITV4.

Frampton, whose previous fight against Chris Avalos was also on ITV, said: "I am delighted to be once again defending my World title on ITV. It is brilliant news that this fight will be shown live on ITV in the UK and live on CBS in the USA.

"I feel I am the best super-bantamweight in the world and I am excited to box in front of a huge television audience."

Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said: "We're delighted to be on board for the US debut of such an exciting British talent and look forward to bringing our viewers another evening of top class boxing."
