Carl Frampton: I will silence Texas crowd

World champion Carl Frampton says he is ready for anything the hostile Mexican fans can throw at him on July 18 at the Don Haskins Arena in El Paso Texas, writes David Kelly

The undefeated IBF super-bantamweight champion (right) makes the second defence of his belt against 22-year-old Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez jnr on his American debut.

"I've boxed all over the world as an amateur, I've been in very hostile environments so I'll be ready for it. I boxed in Turkey one time and that was really hostile but I still beat three Turks one day after the other at a top amateur event," said Frampton.

"I think I'll feed off the atmosphere. Of course I'm expecting a few boos but when I silence the crowd they'll know I've got the better of their man."
