Carl Frampton's press conference to announce Belfast opponent is 'open to the public'

Frampton and his opponent will be at the Europa Hotel on Wednesday at 1pm

What are you doing Wednesday lunch-time? You don't know? Well if you're about Belfast, now you do.

The much-awaited press-conference to unveil the venue and opponent for Carl Frampton's Belfast bout is due to begin at 1pm and the boxer has announced that it will be open to the public.

It will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Europa Hotel as the build-up to Carl's first home fight in over two years begins in earnest.

The 30 year-old revealed last week that he will fight in Belfast on July 29. While a venue has yet to be unveiled, Windsor Park is rumoured to be the location of the much-anticipated bout.

Frampton's opponent is also as yet unknown but he will be present at Wednesday's press conference.

Carl is, of course, looking to bounce back from his first professional defeat when he lost his WBA super-featherweight title to Léo Santa Cruz at the MGM in January.

Frampton had been keen for a rematch with the Mexican but that bout could not be agreed on, nor could a showdown with IBF featherweight title holder Lee Selby, who has to honour his mandatory fight against Jonathan Victor Barros.
