Josh Warrington to fight Lee Selby at Elland Road
The IBF featherweight title decider will take place on May 19.
Lee Selby’s IBF featherweight title defence against Josh Warrington has been confirmed for Leeds United’s Elland Road.
The 30-year-old Welshman will travel to his long-term rival’s home city on May 19 for what represents the biggest fight of each of their careers and the first ever at the stadium.

Selby will be making the fifth defence of his title against his undefeated mandatory challenger, and hopes victory will lead to a match-up with Carl Frampton later this year.
The May 19 date had already been confirmed but of Elland Road being secured, Selby said: “Fighting away from home in his backyard doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
“This is a huge fight and it makes sense to take it to a football stadium. There will be tens of thousands of his fans backing him but it’s only me and him in the ring.”
Warrington, 27, who will fight for a world title for the first time, said: “With the support of an entire city behind me I’m going to create history. I’m grabbing this opportunity with both hands.”
Leeds’ managing director Angus Kinnear added: “Josh is very much a part of the Leeds United family and we are proud to be able to help him fulfil his ambition to fight at Elland Road.
“We are also very pleased to add the fight to the growing number of high-profile sporting events happening at our iconic home in 2018.”
