Michael Conlan could have rematch with Nikitin at Feile an Phobail
Michael Conlan will box in Belfast for the second time this August at Feile an Phobail - and it could be a rematch against rival Vladimir Nikitin.
The 27-year-old featherweight confirmed he will box outdoors at the event, which runs from August 1-11, and the Russian is being lined up as the opponent.
The pair have been locked in a head-on collision to meet since Nikitin controversially knocked Conlan out of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Now it could happen in front of Conlan's loyal supporters in Belfast as the unbeaten boxer prepares for his second fight in his home town.
"These are the people I grew up with," said Conlan, who defeated Adeilson dos Santos last time he boxed in Belfast.
"This is the community which, anywhere I go in the world, has my back."
Since turning professional, Nikitin has only had three fights, but all three have seen him win on the judge's scorecards.
