Michael Conlan’s hotly anticipated rematch with Vladimir Nikitin has been confirmed to be taking place on August 3 at the Falls Park in Belfast.

The pair will meet in the ring for the first time since Niktin controversially defeated Conlan in the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The fight will take place during Feile an Phobail, with a large home crowd expected to be in attendance to back local hero Conlan.

The 27-year-old featherweight is undefeated and has made no secret of his desire to set up a rematch with the Russian, who has also never lost.

Niktin has only had three pro fights and has won all three on the judges’ scorecards.

This will be the second time Conlan has boxed in his hometown after his win over Adeilson dos Santos last year.
