Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan have world vision

By David Kelly

Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan have outlined their drive towards World title glory as they look ahead to next month's bill at the Waterfront Hall.

Double Olympic bronze medallist Barnes is aiming to secure a top 15 rating with the WBO in only his third fight against former European flyweight champion Silvio Olteanu, while Conlan says he is heading towards a WBO super-flyweight title shot before the end of the year.

Barnes will headline at the Waterfront on June 17 as he takes a step up in class, jumping up to 10 rounds in a WBO European flyweight title fight with Olteanu.

"It's the top 15 ranking that I want to get me moving towards a world title fight. It's a gamble moving up to 10 rounds in only my third fight but my amateur experience will help me to do that and it's a case of getting my training right so I can pace the 10 rounds. I'll have to be on my game or I'll lose," said Barnes.
