This fight is all about world titles for Burnett, not money: Coach Adam Booth

By David Kelly

Coach Adam Booth says Ryan Burnett will show he is the genuine article at world level this Saturday night at Belfast's SSE Arena.

Burnett took the IBF World title from Lee Haskins in June with a fine boxing display but WBA World bantamweight champion Zhanat Zhakiyanov is a much more dangerous proposition.

Both men are making the first defence of their world belts having triumphed earlier this year and Burnett is eager to prove he's the top bantamweight on the planet.

"Ryan has the genuine desire to be the best in the world, that's why he has taken this fight. He has a champion's mentality," said top coach Booth.

"Some fighters have that attitude that Ryan has and some have a business mentality towards boxing and I've experienced both as a promoter and manager.

"I applaud the fact that Ryan has taken this fight and also that Zhanat wants to do it. On Saturday you have two good champions matched up against each other in a very exciting fight for the fans. This is what boxing is all about. It's a fight that I'm really looking forward to, it's a real test for Ryan."
