Alan Green: Moyes should seek new challenge

While all the pressure before the Merseyside derby at Wembley appeared to be on Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool the outcome may prove to be pivotal in regard to David Moyes’ tenure at Everton.

I think most neutrals would have been happy for the blue half of the city to emerge triumphant given the argument that Moyes deserves a trophy or, at least, another chance of winning one because of his brilliant husbandry of a financially challenged club over a decade.

It didn’t work out like that and didn’t deserve to.

They mustered just TWO chances, one of them a goal that should have been ruled out for offside.

So what’s been largely ‘unsaid’ at Goodison, for a long while, sharpens into focus: Moyes has done everything that can be expected of him there. He needs and deserves to move on.

I thought, should Redknapp go to England, that Tottenham was a possibility.

I’m told Tottenham aren’t interested but heaven knows why.

Surely someone, somewhere will be interested in Moyes. Maybe Aston Villa?
