While the upcoming Australian election is being fought out on the lines of Novak Djokovic and his eligibility to play in the Australian Open having not been vaccinated against Covid-19, you wonder how this case might set a precedent for world sport.

In the GAA, some teams have enforced a strict policy. After they beat Waterford in last August’s All-Ireland hurling semi-final, Limerick manager John Kiely made a point of telling reporters the entire panel had been double-vaccinated at that point.
