MWR Motorsports will boast an all-Ulster line-up for this season's Pirelli National Superstock 600cc Championship, which forms part of the world renowned British Superbike Championship series.

The all-Ulster line-up will see Carrickfergus lad Andrew Irwin (pictured) sign on the dotted line for a second season, where he will be joined by current Irish Supersport and Adelaide Masters champion Carl Phillips of Belfast.

Irwin, who scored two podiums with MWR last season, said of his deal: "I am very pleased to continue with MWR Motorsports for a second season.

"The team has made a few key personnel additions and I feel this is the perfect place for me to be to fighting for the title."

Irish champion Phillips may well find the British championship pace a little different, but he is fired up for the challenge, as he explained: "I'm delighted to get this opportunity to ride for Hillsborough-based MWR Motorsports.

"I have been training hard over the last few months and can't wait for the season to get under way.

"I know I have the pace to run at the front in this class and I am more than ready for the most important season in my career to date to begin."

Team owner Mark Webster concluded: "Andrew showed last year that he has the pace to fight for race wins.

"This season he will be a much wiser and complete rider and I am convinced he will be a championship contender.

"Carl is every bit as focused and will not want to be overshadowed by his fellow countryman.

"Every year there is a rider in this class that no-one takes into account as a championship challenger, and I believe that this year, Carl is the one."
