Stevie Mills returns and has Robert Hamilton in his stable

After a seven-year sabbatical, one of Ireland's best known and well respected figures within local motocross, Stevie Mills, will make a return to local racing circles with his Risk Racing Russell's Yamaha by M&T Team this coming season.

The Dromore man, who celebrates his 50th birthday on March 16, will include former Irish MX2 champion [2012] Michael Mahon in his line-up. The 22-year-old Dubliner was also runner up in last year's MX1 class, and he will be joined this time in the Go-MX stable by Portavogie rider Robert Hamilton.

Hamilton (26) is a former Ulster and Irish champion and returns to the Mills' Go-MX stable where he won the Ulster title back in 2006 as a teenager. Dromore-based Go-MX is Ireland's only off-road wholesaler; they are also the current distributor for Risk Racing, Polisport and Rip 'n' Roll products throughout Europe.

Speaking about his return to racing with Dubliner Mahon and Ards' Peninsula man Hamilton – who had flirted with retirement before Mills came calling – said: "We have some great local backing and two top lads to work with this season.

"I've always enjoyed my racing and to be keeping Robert away from retirement for another year and also to be working with Michael whose aspirations are another Irish title, is motivation enough to come back into the sport."
