Destiny calling Ulster

By Steven Beacom

After Ulster won the European Cup in 1999, the competition changed the following year when English teams finally decided to enter.

Although confusion surrounds the tournament at present, it seems the Heineken Cup, as we know it, will undergo some sort of transformation next season. Maybe not as much as Miley Cyrus, but you get the drift.

See where I'm going with this? Ulster, who start their campaign tomorrow night at home to Leicester Tigers, will become European champions again.

Call it destiny. The fact that Ulster have a host of outstanding players, boosted by the news that the brilliant Ruan Piennar is staying, will also help!
