Steven Beacom: Healy move to Ipswich good for Northern Ireland

I was pleased to see David Healy get away from Sunderland in the transfer window.

David has hardly had a look in all season and even when the Black Cats couldn’t score furniture in recent weeks, he didn’t figure.

Deciding to reunite with Roy Keane may have come as a shock to some, but it’s hard to say no to the man from Cork.

And I have a feeling that the loan move to Ipswich Town might just work out for Healy.

I fancy him to play games and score goals in the Championship which will increase his match fitness and his confidence.

That can only be good for Northern Ireland because let’s face it, Healy remains the main man for us. We need him firing on all cylinders to have any chance of qualifying for the 2012 European Championships.
