Steven Beacom: Mr Cool Capello is a class act
It was swift, brutal and done with a real air of authority.
That was how the cool and calculating Fabio Capello dealt with the embarrassing situation John Terry had put himself, his wife and English football in.
The meeting between manager and player lasted 12 minutes. And the right decision was made to take the captaincy away from Terry.
Since becoming England boss, Capello has run a tight ship, accepting no messing about from players and in turn he has delivered results.
He was already in a position of strength before the sorry tale of Terry and now he is on even more solid ground. For the first time in many a long year, England have a manager they can be proud of.
