Brigade eager to end Bleachgreen hoodoo in North West Cup semis

Tricky trip: Andy Britton will bring his Brigade side to Ardmore

It's North West Cup semi-final day on Sunday with holders Brigade facing a tricky trip to Ardmore, and Glendermott and Ballyspallen meeting each other for the second time in nine days.

The Bleachgreen hasn't been Brigade's luckiest ground in recent years so Andy Britton's side will approach this tie with caution, but last year's Championship sides will have been glad to avoid the Premiership leaders as they chase a place in the two-day final next month.

It could be a breakaway weekend for Brigade because tomorrow they are at Bready, their closest challengers in the league table, but victory over the defending champions could give them a 70-point advantage.

In the Robinson Services Premier League, CIYMS will expect to keep their four-point lead with victory over Muckamore, although North Down are also at home against Carrickfergus, and Waringstown will be keen to get back to winning ways against Civil Service North at The Lawn.

Instonians try for the fifth time to get off the mark with a visit to Lisburn, who have already won twice this season.
