Australia’s in-form opener Aaron Finch has been ruled out of Friday’s fourth one-day international against England with a hamstring strain.

Finch has been in excellent touch despite his side losing each of the first three games, hitting 106, 107 and 62 at the head of the innings.

But Cricket Australia have confirmed the 31-year-old has a “minor right hamstring strain” and will not feature at the Adelaide Oval on Australia Day.

Finch will remain with the squad and be assessed to see if he can play in the fifth and final ODI at the new Perth Stadium on Sunday.

His absence means Australia will be forced to rejig their batting line-up for the fourth game in a row, with Travis Head set to earn a recall.
