Shane Getkate and Rush opening batsman Stephen Doheny have been named as captains of the North and South teams for two T20 Development games at Lisburn tomorrow and Malahide next Monday (both 2pm starts).

The hastily-arranged games are add-ons for national selectors, after the series of provincial intra-squad ties which ended in the North West yesterday.

None of the Ireland 22 who were in England for the World Cup Super League series were considered, although international Getkate is joined in the squad by CIYMS leg spinner Jacob Mulder, who won the last of his 14 Ireland caps in 2017.

There are seven NCU players and four from the North West in the Northern XII, plus Rush wicket-keeper Neil Rock who plays for Northern Knights.

The selectors have made three changes for the return game with Ireland pace bowler David Delany, from Clontarf - another Northern Knights ace, and who missed the trip to England because of injury and has still not bowled this season - coming in.

Craig Young and Andy McBrine played in yesterday's North West intra-squad game, taking 3-16 and 2-11 respectively as their team won by 22 runs.
