Inexperienced Ireland Wolves are aiming to bare their teeth

By Ian Callender

A young and inexperienced Ireland Wolves side get the chance to show they are ready to move up a level against a strong Scotland 'A' squad this week.

The teams will play two 50-overs games, today and tomorrow, followed by a Twenty20 clash on Thursday.

While the Wolves travel with only four capped players, the Scottish squad includes nine who have appeared for the senior side, including six who were in Holland at last month's T20 Tri-Series.

James McCollum, who missed Northern Knights' last two games at the Twenty20 Festival at the weekend, was fit to travel and David Delany, who was rested from the Munster Reds team which claimed an historic win against Leinster Lightning on Sunday, is also ready to go.

Aaron Gillespie and Stephen Doheny were others who enjoyed a good weekend in Pembroke and will be keen to kick on, while Harry Tector - named as captain in spite of the presence of Andy McBrine and Shane Getkate - will be aiming to prove he can lead the side and still perform with both bat and ball.

Scotland 'A': A Evans (capt), M Watt (T20 capt), D Budge, R Henry, M Jones, M Leask, G Main, A Neil, O Shah, H Tahir, C Wallace.

Ireland Wolves: H Tector (capt), D Delany, G Delany, S Doheny, J Garth, S Getkate, A Gillespie, F Hand, T Kane, A McBrine, J McCollum, L Tucker, C Young.
