Ireland opt to bowl first

England handed debuts to James Taylor, Ben Stokes and Scott Borthwick in a new-look one-day side to take on Ireland at Clontarf.

Led by Dublin-born Eoin Morgan for the first time, England omitted Graham Onions and Jonathan Bairstow from a relatively inexperienced 13-man squad. Jonathan Trott made the side after missing the last two Tests against India with a shoulder injury.

Ireland captain William Porterfield won the toss - delayed by 15 minutes due to rain - and decided to bowl first despite missing opening bowler Trent Johnston with a knee complaint.
