New signing is Notts going to happen!
Fans were promised an announcement at 10am…and are still waiting!
Nottinghamshire fans were left disappointed on Wednesday morning when the club failed to make good on a promise to release breaking news at 10am.
Notts set tongues wagging just after 8am when tweeting a picture of a mystery player with ‘ANNOUNCEMENT 10AM’ in bold lettering.
The image was also accompanied with the caption “Stay tuned for some breaking news this morning #Notts”, suggesting the club were set to announce a new signing.
But 10am came and went without any update, leaving Notts and England paceman Stuart Broad, as well as the Trent Bridge faithful, baffled as to what the hold up was.

The club addressed the situation 90 minutes later, admitting they were no longer in a position to announce the news.
Notts tweeted: “Sorry we’ve kept you waiting. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we’re now not able to release our news as expected. We’ll keep you posted and thanks for your patience.”

Notts avoided embarrassing social-media gaffes when previously announcing the signings of Paul Coughlin, Chris Nash, Dan Christian and Ish Sodhi.
So what went wrong this time, who knows?
