Sam's the man for cup victors Bready

By Ian Callender

Bready IV won the Qualifying 3 Cup final on Sunday after dismissing Ardmore III in their second innings for just 81.

Sam Jeffrey, son of former international pace bowler Alan, was man of the match with three of the wickets, to give him match figures of eight for 21. With a first innings lead of 65, it left the Magh eramason side with just 17 to win.

But there were still celebrations at Ardmore after the 1st XI took home the Sam Jeffrey Shield, named after young Sam's grandfather, following their 63 runs win over Drummond at Eglinton.

And on the same day they received an even bigger bonus when Killyclooney won their first league game of the season against St Johnston, Ardmore's main rivals for promotion from the Championship. The teams remain locked on 18 points but Ardmore now have a game in hand of the Saints.
