Stormont set for Test Cricket dates

By Ian Callender

Stormont could host Test cricket before the end of the decade after Ireland took a huge step closer to joining the elite of the world game.

Cricket Ireland have been given the go-ahead to apply for Full Membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC), a preserve thus far of the 10 Test match nations, and, as CI meet all the criteria, that will be ratified at the ICC's AGM in June.

That will give Ireland the opportunity to play Test matches and Stormont and Bready could join Malahide on the list of Test match venues.
