All square at the Brandywell as Derry draw with Shamrock Rovers

It was all square at the Brandywell tonight as Shamrock Rovers held Derry City to a scoreless draw.

In what proved to be a scrappy game Shamrock Rovers will be the happier side to escape with a point.

Derry have stretched their unbeaten run to nine games and remain in fourth place in the League of Ireland table.

The Candystripes had chances through Nathan Boyle and Rory Patterson but it was not to be for the side who claimed a point on manager Kenny Shiels' birthday.

Substitute Brandon Miele nearly won the game for Rovers in the final minute but his shot was just wide of city keeper Gerard Doherty's post.
