Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has suggested he would be interested in bringing Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi to the Etihad should he ever choose to leave Spain.
Guardiola's side face his former club Barca at the Nou Camp in the Champions League tonight, the second time the Spaniard has faced his old employers since he left in 2012.
"In the case of Leo, I really hope he plays and finishes his career (in Barcelona)," Guardiola said. "But maybe one day, he will want to go and play somewhere else."
Meanwhile, current Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has said he does not want his tenure to be compared to Guardiola's spell in charge of the Catalans.
"Don't compare me to Pep because..." Enrique started, with the implication that his unspoken ending would have been something along the lines of: "...I'll never match that."
