Benitez Spanish experience can guide Newcastle back to Premier
Rafael Benitez will head into his moment of destiny with Newcastle tonight having seen it all before.
The much-decorated Spaniard, whose record includes Champions League glory, will send out the Magpies against Preston knowing victory will take them back into the Premier League after the briefest possible absence.
In the grand scheme of things, that may not represent the biggest achievement of his career but, after a wobble over Easter, Tyneside will be nervous and he will draw on his experience of guiding Tenerife into Spain's top flight in 2001.
Benitez said: "I was promoted with Tenerife. It went to the last game of the season. It's a game where you have to be calm and do the right things, so I have experience of this situation.
"But my experience doesn't matter because I can give advice to the players, I can talk about staying calm, but after they go home for 22 hours, I don't see them any more. It depends on how each player reacts."
