Casey Stoney signs for Liverpool Ladies

Liverpool Ladies have announced the signing of 129-cap England international Casey Stoney after she left Arsenal Ladies.

The 34-year-old defender, a former captain of her country, spent the past two seasons with the north London club during her second spell with Arsenal, with whom she helped win the FA Women's Cup earlier this year.

Stoney has represented England at the past three World Cups and was the captain for Team GB's women's team at the 2012 Olympics.

"This is a great move for me joining a fantastic club and I am really excited for the new season," Stoney said.

"I was really impressed with Liverpool Ladies last season as they had a big turnover in players but still managed to have a good first season under Scott Rogers."
