Kenny Shiels and his Derry City side were left devastated after their FAI Cup dream came to an end with a 2-1 defeat in their semi-final replay against Dundalk at the Brandywell.
The Candystripes' Ronan Curtis opened the scoring in the first half, but Ciaran Kilduff equalised before the break from the penalty spot, allowing Ronan Finn to snatch the win with a well-placed second-half header.
Despite reaching the last four, Shiels said he was disappointed their cup run had come to an end.
"There's a frustration and a disappointment and everyone's feeling down because there was so much commitment and endeavour and hard work which went into the game," the manager explained.
"Over the two games I thought we were the better team, but there are lots of positive things to come out of it.
"The players gave everything and when they do that, then the city is proud of them."
