Derry City midfielder Aaron McEneff set for Rotherham United switch
Derry City midfield ace Aaron McEneff is set to join Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United on July 1 when the transfer window opens.
The Candystripes star, who has been one of their standout performers this season, has scored 10 goals this campaign but is a free agent at the end of the year.
The 22-year has also drawn interest from Bristol City and Wigan, but Rotherham looks set to be his destination once the window officially opens at the start of next month.
It'll be another significant blow to Derry, who are also losing Ronan Curtis to Portsmouth and have struggled for form in recent weeks.
McEneff will join Irish players Anthony Forde, Darren Potter and Joshua Kayode at the New York Stadium, where manager Paul Warne has said he will only sign players of value to the squad.
"We’ve got plenty of irons in the volcano and we’ve put a lot of bids out to clubs which will improve us," said Warne.
"We’re only going to bring in people who benefit the group and buy into it."
