Shiels hopeful that Derry City will provide Danes with stern test

By Eoin Wilson

It is mission impossible for Derry City as they lock horns with Midtjylland in the second leg of their Europa League qualifier at the Sligo Showgrounds.

The Candystripes - whose Brandywell home is being revamped - were beaten 6-1 in Denmark last week, with tonight's game therefore academic.

Boss Kenny Shiels is hoping his players can go out with their heads held high.

"I don't think 'restoring pride' is the right terminology because I felt so proud of them for the commitment they put into the game in Denmark," he explained.

"I told them that they deserve so much credit so let's go and do it again and get into that frame of mind that we're not going to be pushed over."
