Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has signed a contract extension to remain with the European and Italian champions until 2015.
The move to pin down Sneijder comes after he had been linked with a possible move to Manchester United following a stellar 12 months for the 26-year-old midfielder.
Sneijder led Inter to the Champions League and Serie A double last season before playing a starring role as Holland reached the World Cup final.
“The fans will be happy above all else,” said Inter president Massimo Moratti.
“Sneijder became a key player for Inter last season and will be this year, and for many years to come,” he added.
