Greeks are keen on snapping up Lafferty

By Steven Beacom

Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty could be on his travels again... this time to Greece.

Sources in the debt ridden country have suggested that AEK Athens have held talks with Norwich about taking the Fermanagh ace on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Lafferty, a key figure for Northern Ireland in the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Hungary, is no stranger to joining foreign sides having already had spells in Switzerland, Italy and Turkey.

He has also played in Scotland with Rangers.

Greek football fans know Lafferty well having seen him destroy their national team in Athens last year, scoring a stunning goal in a 2-0 victory in the Euro qualifiers.

Lafferty knows he is well down the pecking order at Norwich, who have signed Congo striker Dieumerci Mbokani on loan from Dynamo Kiev.
