Healy thrilled as Blues land French striker

By Adam McKendry

Linfield have made their second signing of the January transfer window by bringing in French striker Achille Campion until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old makes the journey north on a short-term deal from Airtricity League side Cork City until June.

Campion, regarded as a powerful forward, scored Cork's equaliser in last year's FAI Cup final against Dundalk, which they would go on to win on penalties, and also helped them to the Premier Division title in a double-winning campaign.

The Paris-born player will have to wait for international clearance before he can make his Linfield debut, but manager David Healy says he's delighted to have signed the experienced Campion.

"Achille will add experience and quality to the options available to us in our forward line and I'm really looking forward to starting to work with him in training," said Healy.
