Hull City want former Northern Ireland midfielder Grant McCann as new boss
Sky Bet Championship club Hull City have made a formal approach for Doncaster Rovers boss and former Northern Ireland international Grant McCann.
McCann is yet to make a decision on whether he wishes to speak to the Championship club.
The former Peterborough United boss led Rovers to the playoffs last season where they lost to eventual winners Charlton Athletic.
However reports suggest that McCann could be appointed boss at the Tigers before they are due back for pre-season on Monday.
The Tigers have looked at a number of options since Nigel Adkins' departure, but by Monday had set their sights on McCann, having previously considered the likes of Michael Appleton and Paul Heckingbottom, according to Hull Live.
It is believed that Doncaster will try everything in their power to keep hold of their manager as they prepare for the new League One season.
