The Northern Ireland Under-18 schoolgirls side will face Australia in an international friendly next week. Head coach Alfie Wylie - still on a high after the senior girls stunned Portugal 1-0 on Thursday night - has picked an 18-strong squad for the game, which is being staged on Monday at Ulster University's Jordanstown campus (12noon kick-off).

Australia are visiting Northern Ireland as part of a UK and Ireland tour and Wylie said his team are looking forward to being part of that.

He said: "This promises to be a hard fought contest between two teams who will aim to use the game as preparation for the year ahead. The game also provides another opportunity for our girls to represent their country.

"We will be using the game as further preparation against tough opposition but it will also add to our training and match programme for what promises to be an exciting year for women's football in Northern Ireland, especially with us hosting this year's Uefa Under-19 Women's Championship in the summer."
