BBC confirms broadcasting arrangements for Northern Ireland friendlies

BBC NI has confirmed broadcasting arrangements for Northern Ireland's Central America tour.

The broadcaster will screen highlights of the game against Panama on its website on Wednesday morning.

While the entire game in San Jose against Costa Rica will will be screened live on the website, app and will be available on smart televisions from 6.50pm on Sunday.

The tour is in preparation for the two opponents World Cup appearances and Northern Ireland's games in the Autumn. Michael O'Neill will also use them to hand out five possible first team debuts.

There was concern Northern Ireland fans could miss out on the action from the friendlies.

There was anger at the broadcaster's screening of Wales' game against Mexico and Scotland's clash with Peru online when no decision had been made on Northern Ireland games.

It was thought "technical difficulties" in streaming the matches may have presented difficulties.

Kick-off against Panama is at 2am BST on Wednesday and against Costa Rica at 7pm BST on Sunday.
