Conor Washington joins Championship rivals after QPR contract terminated

Northern Ireland forward Conor Washington has signed for another Championship club after his contract was terminated by QPR.

Washington has joined Sheffield United after his deal was ended by mutual consent. United beat Millwall to complete a deal with the 26-year-old.

Washington netted 13 Championship goals since arriving at Loftus Road from Peterbrough back in January 2016.

He has featured in four of the club's five league matches so far this season, but has fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of loan signings Tomer Hemed from Brighton and Nahki Wells from Burnley.

"The club would like to thank Conor for all his efforts whilst at Loftus Road and wish him every success in the future," read a QPR club statement.

Washington has scored three goals in 17 appearances for Northern Ireland.

He joins a growing contingent of NI players at Bramall Lane, alongside Ollie Norwood, Daniel Lafferty, Caolan Lavery and U21 forward David Parkhouse.
